Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-CHANGES, part DEUX
So you’re all on the edge of your seats, yes, about the changes in my world? Ok, imma gonna tell you. For those of you who know me personally the following may be of some interest. For the rest of you who know me only through this blog, well, you may find this post quite boring. Anyway, here goes:
In a nutshell I am moving from HERE…
to HERE
Or, from close to Mt. Shasta to close to Lake Tahoe.
I have resigned my post at the newspaper I currently work for and have accepted an offer at another one about 3 ½ hours away from where I currently live. It’s a family owned newspaper group, one that will afford me the luxury of making decisions that will hopefully result in massive online and print profits, far away from the leering eyes of Senator Oxley and Senator Sarbanes.
It’s a challenging, exciting, scary and thrilling time for me, and leaving my current post to this “step up” in my career was a heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be.
But it’s done and I can move on and start this new little adventure with high hopes and a positive mind. I’ve moved countries (twice!), so 3 ½ hours away within the same state should be a cakewalk.
I’ll try to continue this blog and post as often as possible, but there may be some additional time in between postings until I can get my bearings. Some of the postings may be of a more personal nature, perhaps documenting some of the more interesting situations that arise during my transition. But you know me. I’ll work music into those somehow. And speaking of music, here’s a related video…
Stay with me folks. It’s going to get interesting.
I’m going through something similar soon, moving across country. Although it only amounts to a couple of hundred miles away. WIsh I was moving job too, I’m not, it’s only a domestic move, with the joys of commuting back into the city every day….
Good Luck!!!
As one who knows the thrill and trepidation of moving – a little more than 3.5 hours away – all I can say is good for you, brother. You control your own destiny and you have made a decision that is the best one for you and your family (and your sanity, I’m sure).
Soon there will be nothing left of that other newspaper we all called home for so many years. Troubling, but not unexpected.
And yes, the grass is greener on the other side.
Trust.
If it’s Swift, I worked for them for 8 years, it’s a beautiful area up there — I grew up not far from Tahoe. Good luck!
Wow, good luck with the new gig! Lake Tahoe is such a gorgeous place, my Uncle lives there and every so often I get to go visit him, it’s fun!
Bless you and yours. May you have peace of mind in the place. I’ll keep reading your fabulous music ramblings. You rock.
